Dental Cavities

Dental cavities (caries) are permanently damaged areas in the hard surface of teeth that develop into tiny holes. They are caused by bacteria that produce acid from sugars in food, gradually dissolving tooth enamel. Cavities are the most common chronic disease worldwide, affecting nearly every adult and most children. They are entirely preventable with proper oral hygiene and regular dental care.

Gum Disease

Gum disease is a common infection of the tissues surrounding and supporting the teeth. It begins as gingivitis (gum inflammation) with red, swollen gums that bleed easily, and can progress to periodontitis, where gums pull away from teeth and bone is destroyed. Gum disease is the leading cause of tooth loss in adults and is linked to heart disease, diabetes, and other systemic conditions.
