Also known as: Sciatic Nerve Pain, Lumbar Radiculopathy, Pinched Nerve
Sciatica refers to pain that radiates along the path of the sciatic nerve, from the lower back through the hips, buttocks, and down each leg. It is usually caused by a herniated disc, bone spur, or spinal stenosis compressing part of the nerve. While the pain can be severe, most cases resolve within a few weeks with conservative treatment.
